Community Support

Our Commitment to the Community

At Bellco, we continually focus on making an impact within our communities in the areas of financial education, quality of life, and arts & culture. With this in mind, we have been strengthening our relationships with a smaller group of local organizations that support these initiatives to create a deeper and more measurable impact.

Financial Education

Helping provide the best tools and resources so you can feel financially empowered is why we’ve teamed up with organizations focused on financial education and learning solutions.

Quality of Life

Basic needs like food, water, and shelter are just one reason why we’ve aligned with local organizations working to end hunger and provide health, wellness, and safe-housing support.

Arts & Culture

Bellco believes the arts are fundamental to a healthy community, which is why we work with local cultural organizations and non-profits across the state of Colorado.

Financial Education

Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain

Junior Achievement, a nonprofit dedicated to motivating kids for future career success, self-sufficiency, and financial acumen, joined forces with Bellco in 2019 to help ensure that access to financial education is available for Colorado youth at no cost.

In 2023, Junior Achievement opened a new facility, The JA Free Enterprise Center, which houses two state-of-the-art learning labs, the Daniels Fund JA Dream Accelerator® and the Robert and Judi Newman JA Finance Park.® Together, they fuse the physical and digital worlds to deliver innovative, real-world, and inspirational learning experiences in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness—reaching an additional 20,000 students annually.

MoneySmarts

Bellco has teamed up with EVERFI, an online leader in financial education to bring you MoneySmarts, a free user-friendly program that provides short online tutorials that can help you along your financial journey. To view different playlists, and start learning, visit Bellco.org/MoneySmarts.

Another EVERFI project we have worked together on is SchoolSmarts, a program that sponsored 15 Colorado middle and high schools to bring financial education into the classrooms.

FUNancial $marts

In 2019, we teamed up with the nonprofit Economic Literacy Colorado, now Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain, to create FUNancial $marts, a financial education activity guide geared towards elementary students. In 2022, we created and released a middle school edition and finally in 2023, released a high school edition. To learn more and view the books, visit Bellco.org/FunancialSmarts.

GreenPath Financial Wellness

At Bellco, we believe in empowering our members to achieve their financial goals. That’s why we’ve partnered with GreenPath Financial Wellness. GreenPath provides expert financial counseling and valuable educational resources. These resources can help you create a budget, manage debt, save for the future, and make informed financial decisions.

Quality of Life

Food Bank of the Rockies

Basic needs like food, water, and shelter are essential and is one reason why Bellco is continuing its partnership with Food Bank of the Rockies—an organization working to fight hunger throughout Colorado by providing food and essentials to more than 500 hunger-relief programs.

Bellco recently donated a major gift of $100,000 to Food Bank of the Rockies to support the construction of their new Western Slope Distribution Center. The 50,400-square-foot warehouse and food distribution center will allow Food Bank of the Rockies to relocate from its existing 28,600-square-foot facility in Palisade to a larger, modernized space that includes a Volunteer Center, made possible by Bellco, to help recruit and train volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity

Since 2022, Bellco Credit Union has proudly supported Habitat for Humanity through their Credit Union’s Building Community Program. This vital program empowers Habitat for Humanity to undertake critical home repairs for low-income homeowners. By ensuring safe and affordable housing for these individuals, we are not only improving their living conditions but also helping them maintain their longtime residency. This program exemplifies Bellco’s commitment to supporting the local community.

Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver

Bellco Credit Union and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver share a commitment to empowering young people in our community. Bellco’s support enables the Clubs to provide vital programs that foster financial literacy, cultivate a love for the arts, and offer a safe haven for children who may not have access to these opportunities otherwise. Through this partnership, Bellco helps ensure that young people have the resources and support they need to reach their full potential.

Arts & Culture

The Denver Art Museum

Since 2016, Bellco has been a sponsor of Free for Kids, a program that provides children 18 and under free general admission to the Denver Art Museum. In 2023, Bellco became the Presenting Sponsor of Free for Kids!

Thanks to our sponsorship of Free for Kids, Bellco members can receive FREE GENERAL ADMISSION to the Denver Art Museum on the second full weekend of each month.

To learn more about our Free for Kids program and museum admission discounts, you can visit our Denver Art Museum page.

Bellco Theatre

Bellco Credit Union has proudly sponsored the Bellco Theatre since 2015. The Bellco Theatre is a 5000-seat venue and is one of the most technically advanced theaters of its kind. It offers the best possible acoustics for concerts, lectures, general sessions, and family spectaculars.

In 2019, Bellco commissioned Shaw Nielson, a local illustrator, to create a mural of the whole state of Colorado and includes something from each part of the state. The mural is meant to spark joy and allow the community to find something that connects them to the state of Colorado.
